Loy Krathong Event - Rama V Part I

Loy Krathong Event - Rama V

Rama V

Rama V, a Thai Fine Dining Restaurant, has been recognized as one of the most popular Thai Restaurant in KL.

Here I would like to Congratulate Rama V team as the winner of TIMEOUT FOOD AWARD in the Best Thai/Indochinese Restaurant Category.

                  What is Loy Krathong?

Loy means "To Float" & Krathong means "A lotus-shaped receptacle that could float in the water". This event usually takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th Month in Thai Traditional Lunar Calendar , which is November in Western Calendar.

A Krathong is usually decorated with folded banana leave, flowers, candles & incense sticks. During the night of the full moon, people will light up the candles & incense sticks on the Krathong and let it floats on a river or pond lake. Krathong serves as an offerings to the river spirits and believes that the spirits would bring them Luck.

Rama V had brought this Thai Traditional Event into their Fine Dining Restaurant in November 2011. The event had brought a great exposure and real Thai experience to their customers.
Check out the photos! :)
